Is Health A State of Mind?

Spread the love

For generations, the term, “mind over matter’ has been the motto that rang from many tongues in many tongues. In fact, it rings true. You are what you think about and what you speak. Is health a state of mind? According to experts like Napoleon Hill, absolutely. That’s why it is so important to be careful what you say, even when you don’t mean it.  Proverbs 18:21 (KJV) says,

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.”

To think before you speak, you should firstly, renew your mind. Then you can protect your health and others. There are supernatural miracles in speaking positive things as well as supernatural curses over speaking negatively.

Speak Life Over Yourself

One of my favorite actors, the humble king, Chadwick Boseman shared many words of wisdom and inspired many of us through his work and acts of kindness.

However, this wonderful soul recently passed away of colon cancer. Although news of his passing hit so many worldwide, not many influencers have mentioned one of Chadwick’s statements during an interview. If you have seen the interview about the Black Panther movie, the interviewer inquired about spoilers in movies such as Black Panther 2. Chadwick’s response was “I’m dead”.

Now you may wonder why he said that at the time and if he literally meant what he said. I do not know what Chadwick’s mindset was at the time; nor do I know his eating habits. All we know now is that Chadwick was already diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer when he starred in several movies and during that interview.

When I saw that interview clip, two thoughts came to mind {other than shock): First, either Chadwick  literally meant that statement to send us a message about his future; or (# 2) maybe it was figurative.

On the other hand, since he was dealing with cancer, he knew he would transition soon. So since we didn’t know of his illness, we probably wouldn’t have thought the worse. It wasn’t until after the fact that I saw his video interview.

I am not saying that Chadwick’s death would been preventative by words alone. It sounded as if he was either speaking prophetically or possibly even speaking of his character portrayal. Either way, it is also possible that speaking life over himself the way he did over others and over his work may have helped him heal a little more each day. It grieves my heart to hear such devastating news. Rest in Heaven, young king. My condolences to Chadwick Boseman’s family and friends.

In the midst of grief and sadness, I am grateful for the powerful, encouraging words he spoke of his work and to so many with dreams and aspirations to contribute to the world. He is truly an inspiration to me.

The Law of Attraction

Now the Imagine when you mix faith and works. For example belief of good health goes  along with a healthy lifestyle, including a healthy diet, medical check ups, exercise, etc. The outcome is miraculous and powerful. James 2:26 reminds us that “faith without works is dead”.  In my post, https://getwisdomwealthy.com/does-the-law-of-attraction-really-work/ I mentioned how the law of attraction has no respect of person. No matter who you are, your words are powerful and you can draw what you write, think or speak about.

This especially works if you focus on that object or situation. For example, have you ever talked about wanting or admiring a specific car and then see it everywhere you go? It may even pop up on television. That is the power of speech and the power of law of attraction.

Your Mind Is Powerful

So in your opinion, is health a state of mind? Think of your experiences and what God has brought you through. Just as your speech is powerful, it stems from your mind. Whatever you think about, you can become. Finally, Philippians 4:8 (KJV) says,

“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report, if there be any praise, think on these things.”

The powerful words that come from our mind and thoughts do compare to God’s powerful Word of truth. Those above scriptures I shared are only a few of many that encourage us to speak life and think life and think lovely thoughts. I know that everyone’s experiences and circumstances are different, but the same applies to us all.

I speak from experience that no matter how you feel, encourage yourself, speak over your health and you can be healed.

Have you ever experienced a positive or negative result changed from your mindset? If so, please share your experience in the comments below and share this post. Your words may help someone else.
